TROPICS is a great product. You brought people from different perspectives, not only from business, and what united us was Africa and that was unique. Being able to draw people and having that convening power is very important. It is not every time you succeed in bringing Africa together and the fact that you were able to do that was a major success and one should not underrate what the TROPICS GROUP OF COMPANIES has achieved.”

The TROPICS BUSINESS SUMMIT (TBS) is a very well attended event. The mix of academia, investors, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and government members made for some great conversations. The fun part about it is discovering a new destination everytime and it’s also to admire the team of female leaders behind the scene doing what they know best. If you’re planning a trip in Africa this year, around October, I suggest you work hard to find an invite - it’s a very unique platform to meet experts, gain industry knowledge and to learn about emerging and established companies in Africa and the diaspora.

A great selection of diverse companies, with excellent introductions and matchmaking by the creative brains behind this groundbreaking event. The facilities and ambiance in South Africa and in Cabo Verde were superb. I had good conversations with most CEOs in my field and I liked the Tropics Dealroom service as the team took time to deliver tailored matchmaking and B2B services we needed. I look forward to attending next year.

In terms of market impact - i.e. broadening awareness of our investment plans and prospects in Sub-Saharan Africa - the past 3 annual TROPICS BUSINESS SUMMIT (TBS) were the best ever we took part in as sponsors and investment partners. The opportunity to work alongside the TROPICS INVEST & CO., subsidiary of the TROPICS GROUP OF COMPANIES, has afforded us a great opportunity to mobilize an envelope of US $500 million worth of investment to finance Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) projects and scale innovation from local and regional Entrepreneurs/Founders. The opportunity to make a keynote presentation before hundreds of qualified delegates and knowledgeable investors coming from francophone, anglophone and lusophone markets, under the same roof, ensured our message received maximum distribution at a crucial stage in our development as a hedge fund from Luxembourg venturing into Africa. Investors are the lifeblood of early-stage exploration and discovery. The TROPICS BUSINESS SUMMIT (TBS) delivers access to these people in spades.”

Chamber of Commerce Luxembourg , President of the Chamber of Commerce Luxembourg - Cabo Verde (CCLCV)

The TROPICS BUSINESS SUMMIT has held its annual summit (over 500 delegates) in South Africa, Cabo Verde and now going to Congo-Brazzaville for almost a decade now. The CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LUXEMBOURG - CABO VERDE (CCLCV) has partnered with the TROPICS GROUP OF COMPANIES and have worked closely with the Board in South Africa and appreciated their competent and professional approach, their fair pricing and their global network. Tagging our image to that of the TROPICS GROUP has been a smart move on our end as we continue to position Cabo Verde and Luxembourg as key technological and financial hubs in the world. It’s about time that Africa takes full advantage of all the opportunities all of us bring as a block to the TROPICS BUSINESS SUMMIT every year. This is the time for every financial hub, investor and startupper to play their part in shaping the Africa we truly want.

The TROPICS BUSINESS SUMMIT (TBS) and all the pre-events (Tropics pre-Summit, Tropics tech and Tropics Business Mixers) are an unparalleled opportunity to learn from francophone, anglophone and lusophone markets and engage with the best in-person, and also join the diversity of delegates online wherever you may find yourself across the globe.”

Government of the Republic of Cabo Verde , Prime Minister of the Republic of Cabo Verde

The Government of Cape Verde, despite the difficulties linked to the successive economic crises, is strongly committed to improving infrastructure, in particular with the creation of clusters and the facilitation of financing. The TROPICS BUSINESS SUMMIT (TBS), under the invitation and sponsorship of the City of Praia, was able to offer an excellent opportunity for the communities of investors and companies to facilitate the creation of networks and business opportunities for both sponsors and partners through an interactive exhibition and a dynamic program of economic and socio-cultural activities. Considering that the summit is an international platform of great visibility, the Cabo Verdean leg of the summit has enabled the consequent visibility and mobilization of means of financing for SMEs as well as means of cooperation between the government, institutions and the private sector for the design and implementation of the policies necessary for the growth and sustainable development of the entire African continent.”
